Dtps. Ching Hua Fair 'Red Flash'
This is Doritaenopsis Ching Hua Fair variety Red Flash. The dark lavender markings at the tips of the petals and dorsal sepal make these flowers very attractive. The natural spread of the flowers is 10 centimeters horizontally. This is a first bloom for this plant. A mature plant will have double the number of flowers shown here. This plant, a mericlone from Taiwan, is currently blooming in my shade house.

This is Doritaenopsis Minho Princess variety S.J. The breeder is from Taiwan. The flowers are white with rose lavender veins. The veins are deeper colored at the tips of the petals and sepals. Mature plants will branch and provide a spectacular shower of cascading flowers. The plant shown here is its first bloom.

This is a very showy Phalaenopsis with its flowers handsomely displayed and arranged on a cascading inflorescence. The flowers measure 12 centimeters horizontally. This particular plant is owned and grown by Orchid Center in Waianae, Oahu, Hawaii. The plant was in bloom for over a month when this picture was taken.

This is a photo of a mericlone of Doritaenopsis Hsinying Oahu Star variety Orchid Center. This is the first bloom for this plant. The dark raspberry red blotches on the white background make the flowers very attractive and eye-catching. The plant should more than double the number of flowers during the next blooming season.

This Doritaenopsis was photographed on May 11, 2008. The first blossoms opened in March and new buds are continuing to form and bloom. The attractive white flowers with cherry red lips are very nicely arranged on two inflorgescences. The plant is grown in sphagnum moss in a plastic pot.

Phal. amabilis 'Variegated'
The uniqueness of this plant is its variegated leaves. The leaves are streaked with light yellowish-green lines (subject of another photo). The plant blooms profusely and throws out aerial keikis which also bloom on the mother plant. The flowers will last for a couple of months.

These phalaenopsis are truly miniature in size. The flowers displayed in the photograph are spiking from two plants, both in two-inch plastic pots. The flowers have a natural spread of 1-1/2 inches. Introduced in March 2009 by Orchid Center at last years Windward Orchid Show, the plants were a big hit with show goers. These plants retain their miniature stature with age. They are cute and make good conversation pieces.

This is one of my favorites. The flowers are large (4-3/4 inch spread), displays themselves well, and are long lasting. I also like the flares at the petal tips. I obtained this plant from Orchid Center two years ago when it was in a 3-inch pot.

This very attractive plant is a clone from Taiwan that I recently received from Orchid Center in Waianae. This is a first bloom for this plant. The single inflorescence branches and has 15 flowers and two buds. The flowers have a natural spread of 3-3/4 inches. The plant is grown in New Zealand Sphagnum Moss in a 5-inch plastic pot.

The plant is grown in New Zealand Sphagnum Moss in a 5-inch plastic pot. There are seven flowers on the cascading inflorescence. The flowers have a natural spread of 3-1/2 inches. This is a first bloom for this plant.

The nicely shaped flowers on this plant are huge, almost 5 inches across. The flowers have a light pink overlay on the sepals and petals. Some plants of this clone are pinker than shown here. The plant has nine flowers and two buds on an arching inflorescence.
