One of my all time favorite plants. This is D. unicum x Ukon. Many unicum hybrids tend to wash out to yellow and don't retain the orange of unicum. It blooms freely and remains compact. It looks like it would smell great but it hardly has any fragrance.

2. Dendrobium 'Pixie Charm'

​

This is a first bloom of a seedling acquired from H&R late last spring. It is a hybrid of D Yellow Chinsai and D unicum. The plant is in a 3" pot and will not need a larger pot for at least 5 years. The flowers are close to 2" and have a wonderful fragrance.

Đây là lần nở đầu tiên của một cây con có được từ H & R vào cuối mùa xuân. Nó là một lai của D Yellow Chinsai và D unicum (Hoàng thảo Đơn cam). Lan được trồng trong chậu 3 " (7,5 cm) và sẽ không cần một chậu lớn hơn ít nhất 5 năm. Những hoa kích thước gần 2" (5 cm) và có mùi thơm tuyệt vời.

Here's a picture of my Dendrobium Chinsai 'Floradise I' which is nearing peak bloom. It's a primary hybrid of Dendrobium moniliforme and unicum. Don't confuse it with Den. Yellow Chinsai; it is a different hybrid. I like the veined lip and orangish color.

This hybrid Dendrobium is a crossing of Dendrobium Chinsai x Dendrobium heterocarpum. Dendrobium Chinsai is (Dendrobium moniliforme x Dendrobium unicum). The species Dendrobium heterocarpum and Dendrobium moniliforme come from NE Asia and the minature Dendrobium unicum from warmer regions of Vietnam, Laos, Burma and Thailand. The result of this breeding gives us a modest sized plant with abundant flowers adapted to various growing temperatures. This is a first blooming for me with inflorescences forming from each leaf node of 2 canes.

Dendrobium lai này là một lan lai chéo của Dendrobium Chinsai x Dendrobium heterocarpum (HT. Lụa vàng). Dendrobium Chinsai (Dendrobium moniliforme (HT.Ngọc trúc) x Dendrobium unicum (HT.Đơn cam)). Các loài HT. Lụa vàng và HT.Ngọc trúc đến từ Đông bắc Á??? và lan mini HT. Đơn cam từ các vùng ấm áp của Việt Nam, Lào, Miến Điện và Thái Lan. Kết quả của việc lai giống này cho chúng ta một cây có kích thước khiêm tốn với hoa phong phú, thích nghi với nhiều nhiệt độ trồng khác nhau. Đây là lần đầu tiên lan nở hoa cho tôi với dạng cụm hoa từ mỗi mắt ngủ lá của thân.
